Food Industry Sealed Bearings
We have many variations of food industry sealed bearings available from the big named manufacturers, all of which promise maximum protection against the harsh operating environments found in food factories where wash downs are frequent. So who do you use for the best cost verses performance?
Whether it the Foodline Y range bearings from SKF (Left Image) or the Silver-lube bearing products from NSK (Right Image), does one really outperform the other in like for like applications.
Both manufacturers boast improved sealing systems which protect the inner workings of the bearing from external contaminants, many also stipulate there is no requirement to re-lubricate.
But which one should you choose?
Would you be better off with standard bearings, better wash-down procedures and correct lubrication?
